The Foster Residence is a new 4,600 sf house built to replace the Foster’s fire damaged home. The house is located on corner lot in a charming neighborhood in the heart of Bethesda, Maryland. The Foster’s wanted a craftsman style cottage that would fit easily into the existing neighborhood and not harm the mature landscaping on the site but they also wanted to rotate the front of the house ninety degrees so that their front door and new address would be on the quieter street. The 3-story house concentrates all the primary living spaces in interconnected rooms on the first floor and features a central sky lit stair hall, three bedrooms on the second floor and a 1,400 sf garage/workshop in the basement. architecture.planning.
